The main aim of MoorControl is to provide information and assistance to the boating public to improve safety and enjoyment of their passion
Most of the information and services provided by MoorControl are relevant only to marina based vessels
Floating marinas present a different set of circumstances for vessel mooring and handling for which, traditional methods have not kept pace
MoorControl is backed by the experience gained over 25 years of commercial vessel operation in an occupation that involved
more vessel manoeuvring and handling in a wider variety of vessels, situatoins, and conditions than most would ever encounter

Now there really is a better way to drive your boat into its marina berth
It consists of a guide line strung between suitable cleats on the berth On the guideline, are a stopper, and a moving mooring line that slides along the guideline When the moving line reaches the stopper, it combines with the aft end of the guideline to form a 'spring' The method is simple.
Drive the boat to a position where the moving line can be picked up
This moving line is then belayed to a suitable cleat on the boat
And because the line moves, it has not been necessary to stop
Once secured to the boat, the guideline and moving line control the forward part of the boat
You concentrate on the positoin of the STERN, controlled with steering
When the moving line meets the stopper the guideline and moving line combine to form a 'spring' Which you use to bring the boat alongside the berth, and hold it there while all other lines are secured
The system can be reversed and used with the guideline on the boat and moving line belayed to the berth.  Particularly useful when travelling between marinas
But requires a helper on the berth
Driving in is the same
The lines control the forward part of the boat, you control the stern by steering
Note, in this example the guideline is secured to the bow, not recommended, as springing from the bow can cause excessive "swing" at the stern But here is another advantage of this system
It is possible WITH CARE, to spring from the bow
As at any time when driving into a berth, steering is
MOST important
And possibly the single greatest cause of failure
NEVER attempt to steer TOWARD the berth
All you will achieve is to move the stern AWAY
As the moving line and guideline also combine to provide SOME restriction of movement of the stern
Here's a couple of video demos

after using the MoorControl System

MoorControl provides a "moving mooring line™"
which can be picked up or let go while the boat is moving,
without the need to stop.
MoorControl keeps the part of the boat it is secured to, alongside the berth,
but allows movement forward and backwards,
and enables the boat to be manoeuvred (pivoted) around that point for control
